'BEAUTY IN THE ORDINARY' is released through Phill Calvert's label, Behind The Beat Records. Musicians who have contributed their musical talent are Phill Calvert, Ian Kitney, Charlie Owen,  John Olson, Paul Volta,  Adele Pickvance,  Rosie Westbrook, Richmond Brain, Eugene Beissel, Sam Price. The album was produced by Phill Calvert and Astrid Munday. All songs by Astrid Munday except 'Junction Station' and 'Titanic' (music: Astrid Munday and Lyrics: Kit Quarry}.

A few of the songs on 'Beauty In The Ordinary' are reflection's on life with Tony Cohen, but the album is also dedicated to him for his great encouragement in my songwriting, and all that I learned about recording from him. “Playing, writing and singing is in your soul & don't forget it!" (Tony Cohen).

reviews of 'Beauty in the Ordinary' :

“Comparisons are odious, as this feels utterly Munday’s record, a local blood release in the same classic survivor vein as Paul Kelly’s Post. That said, if you like Cat Power, Velvets-era Nico, and some inner-city cowgirl pop, you might want to tune in.
Meet You at the Studio tells the story of Tony and Astrid’s love, skipping to a sad-happiness. Beware of Strangers is like a Paul Bowles story set in Tangiers: cautionary, haunting. You Laugh You Cry could be a child’s song, but it’s an older woman letting go of life’s weight. It’s all a joy.”

"Astrid Munday Monday Arvo (AMMA). This is one hell of an album. Powerful, poignant, moving. Add in truly wonderful songs, sublime playing and terrific singing. I put it on this morning and haven't listened to anything else since then. It's Astrid Munday's collection of songs about her late husband Tony Cohen and it's beyond great. YOU, my friends, need to hear it".

(Stuart Coupe)

"I love the album and the emotions coming from it make for an incredible listen"

(Paul Gough)

"Wow...I'm a bit lost for words as I had no idea what to expect. I love the concise nature of the songs ( left me wanting more), and the lyrical content is the hero for me. It's so personal and intimate. I got a bit teary hearing descriptives of TC that are so erudite and profoundly Tony. Thank you for such a courageous and authentic collection of songs that invite the listener into such an intimate and personal space. An incredible gift to the world Astrid".

(Adrian Workman)

“It is about loss but "Beauty In The Ordinary" isn't stark or maudlin; it excludes a gentle warmth and a sense of what was experienced and not just what's gone. It's also a record of contrasts. "Love Your Ways" is a naked love song propelled by chunky guitar and lilting, ethereal keys. "Muscles of Steel" is measured hard rock flecked with desire. The flint-dry drums and guitar of "Junction Station" is neat '60s pop and make it one of the best things here, just shading the back-and-forth psychedelic trip of "Disconnection"."Met You At The Studio" revels in the ordinariness of an extraordinary shared life with its allusions to entertaining rock stars and production fame spanning a couple of cities. "Beware of Strangers" is a spoken word Morroccan road trip told with self-deprecating humour. "I'll Be Gone" exposes a nerve with its immediacy while "You Laugh, You Cry" closes the record on an optimistic note.”
